about my calling

Just like all men and women, I'm someone who has faced pain. I've stumbled when walking in the dark.

But through those trials, I have uncovered truths about who God created me to be.

Despite emotional sensitivity that has tried to keep me stuck in the pain, with help from others, I found and created some very practical tools for walking through the tough seasons and thriving in the lighter ones.

What I've discovered is the greatest journey a person can ever take. That is to fully understand themselves, and to persist in becoming undeniably aligned in the foundation God provides. He has uniquely created in you a whole treasure chest of gifts, talents, and ideas that He fully intends for you to use in this world, in your own, unique way.

However, because of our pain, trauma, sin, temptation, and a whole host of things that keep us separated from Him, we often fail to fully step into who God is calling us to be.

It has taken me years, and countless missteps to uncover that about myself. And it's a journey that never stops until we take our last breath.

I've been ordained to share my story with others. To walk alongside them and be a mirror to help them see themselves the way God does. And to provide prayerful, practical support in dealing with the pain, uncovering the lies, and rising in the light.

We are not meant to do this life alone. Jesus commanded the Apostles to go and make disciples of all nations (Matthew 28:19). My path has been carved out for me - to take the pain, knowledge, and gifts I've been given, and stand by others in their own journey.

You have to ask yourself good questions

One of the best ways I’ve found to build my confidence is to ask myself good questions. To get curious and become a scientist on a mission to uncover all of my mysteries.

What I discovered is getting curious about the doubts and insecurities I had actually gave way to the good things about myself I’ve always suspected were there (a.k.a. The Better Woman inside me). I had a deep inner-knowing of what was good all along, but those wretched insecurities chatted louder than my ability to trust myself.

Now, many of those insecurities may always be there at the core. They're tied back to things that happened for most of us when we were children. (And if you're thinking you had a pretty good childhood, I encourage you to get curious - we ALL have insecurities from childhood).

It's a constant practice to recognize that often what we're feeling is actually insecurity, knowing what questions to ask ourselves to dig deeper, repeating this process, and eventually our confidence will come bursting through the door like a lion! And it's not just for insecurities. This process works for everything that holds you back from being the person you want to be.

Whenever I encounter a question I can't answer, an answer that falls short, or an insecurity that won't die, it's usually because I need a better question to ask myself. And once I find a better question and commit to seeking the truth, I find my way back to the knowledge that I am truly enough exactly the way I am.

Dear friend, that is so incredibly powerful! It brings me goosebumps to think about how so many of the answers to all of life's problems lie in our abilities to ask the right questions and to seek the truth in those answers.

If any of this resonates with you, you’re absolutely in the right place. This site will be filled with more thoughts like these - and about a zillion of those questions I’ve asked myself. There are also some exciting tools and resources coming to allow you to go even deeper than what’s currently here.

I’m so glad you found me. I want to share in my joys, sorrows, pain, and triumphs and I want you to do the same.

Let’s do this together - your Better Woman is waiting for you to unleash her and I can’t wait to meet her!

So much love,
